B.S. DEGREE IN RECREATION AND PARKS MANAGEMENT, COMMUNITY RECREATION AND EVENT PLANNING 

Students who choose to focus on Community Recreation and Event Planning within the Bachelor of Science in Recreation & Parks Management degree are prepared to plan, implement, market, evaluate, and manage recreation programs and events.

B.S. DEGREE IN RECREATION AND PARKS MANAGEMENT, THERAPEUTIC RECREATION

Our degree program provides students with requirements necessary to become nationally certified and licensed in North Carolina. Students in this program learn how to assess client needs, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and document and evaluate client progress and program effectiveness.

MINORS IN COMMUNITY AND THERAPEUTIC RECREATION

These minors complement a number of majors, including Biology, Business Administration, Communication Studies, Counseling and Educational Development, Geography, History, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Development and Family Studies, Kinesiology, Political Science, Psychology, Public Health, and Social Work.

ACCELERATED B.S. TO M.S. IN RECREATION AND PARKS MANAGEMENT

Qualified undergraduate students who are pursuing the B.S. in Recreation and Parks Management may apply for admission to the Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP). AMP students have the opportunity to graduate with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree, within a 5-year time period.

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS 

Preparing students to understand early child development, adolescent changes, family relationships, and cultural influences as foundational to creating impactful prevention and intervention practices.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT CLUB 

The CTR Club encourages participation in career programs offered by CTR, promotes professionalism among students, provides opportunities for professional development, creates an awareness of CTR through public relations, and provides opportunities for members to professionally and successfully make contacts in the CTR field.
